Revised Weekly Review Limits for Enhanced Safety

We are making an important change to our weekly review limits for members to further protect your Amazon accounts in light of a recent mass purge of reviews by Amazon. We believe this crackdown is specifically targeting unverified reviews, which in our system include EPUB, PDF, Audible.com, and Kindle Unlimited reviews.

To ensure our network continues to be the safest and most compliant platform for authors, we are implementing a more conservative weekly review limit. We have always taken a cautious approach to keep our members’ accounts safe.

Here is the breakdown of the new limits, effective immediately:

Maximum Total Reviews Per 7-Day Rolling Period: Reduced from 8 to 6.
Maximum Free Reviews Per 7-Day Rolling Period: Limited to 4 and only 1 per day.

How the New Limits Work:

You can now submit a maximum of six total reviews per rolling seven-day period. Within that total, you have the flexibility to mix your review types:

Option 1: Paid Reviews Only: You can submit up to 6 paid, Verified Purchase reviews (Audio CD Purchase, Kindle or Paperback).
Option 2: Combined Reviews: You can submit up to 4 free reviews (EPUB, PDF, Audible.com, or Kindle Unlimited) PLUS up to 2 paid, Verified Purchase reviews, for a maximum total of 6.

This reduction to a maximum of six reviews per week is a protective measure. It is a necessary adjustment based on Amazon’s recent changes and only affects approximately 2.5% of our membership, as most authors already review fewer than six books a week.

Why We Are Making This Change

Amazon’s algorithms are designed to flag and penalize accounts with abnormal review activity, such as an unusually high number of unverified reviews posted in a short timeframe.

Protecting Your Account: By limiting the maximum number of reviews and specifically capping the unverified (free) reviews to four per week, we are maintaining an organic, gradual pace that is far less likely to trigger Amazon’s scrutiny. Our system is designed with safeguards to limit the number of opportunities you participate in, which is crucial for staying within a safe range.
Staying Safe is Our Priority: We believe a conservative approach is the only way to ensure your book and review privileges remain intact for the long term.

A Critical Warning About Competing Services

We must reiterate that members who have experienced issues like review removals or account penalties almost universally use multiple competing book review services simultaneously.

Increased Risk of Flagging: Using multiple services bypasses the strict, conservative safeguards we have implemented on Get Books Reviewed. Our competitors often lack the proper protections to keep your activity hidden, effectively signaling to Amazon that you are using a review service.
Review Swapping Risk: Other platforms may not have a feature like our Import Externally Reviewed Books to prevent accidental review swapping, which is a clear violation of Amazon’s Community Guidelines and can flag your account.
Penalty Risk: When you use external services, you risk exceeding safe weekly review limits and may inadvertently engage in manipulative behavior, which can lead to the removal of all your reviews, including those earned legitimately through our network.

Your safest path is to commit solely to our network. While we allow you to use other services, be aware that if your reviews are removed or your account is penalized due to using competing platforms, you risk being banned from our network, and your book may also be penalized by Amazon.
